New Packet8 Broadband VoIP Adapter Offers Two Line Access

Monday March 7, 8:30 am ET
SAN JOSE, Calif., Spring 2005 VON, March 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- 8x8, Inc. (Nasdaq: EGHT - News), the Packet8 broadband voice over internet protocol (VoIP) and videophone communications service provider, announced the introduction of a new dual port broadband phone adapter, the Packet8 BPA-410.

The Packet8 BPA-410 is equipped with two switched Ethernet ports and two RJ-11 phone service ports, enabling a customer to activate multiple Packet8 service plans without any additional hardware. Each phone jack operates independently, with separate Packet8 phone numbers and service. The second Ethernet port can be used to connect to a PC or other networked device, eliminating the need for an extra Ethernet switch hub.
"Many of our customers have been asking for a low-cost device with two phone lines," said Huw Rees, 8x8 Vice President of Marketing & Sales. "The BPA-410 enables customers to install multiple lines of Packet8 VoIP service with one device. The switched Ethernet port also reduces the wiring issues associated with simultaneous VoIP service and high-speed internet access."
The Packet8 BPA-410 carries a suggested retail price of $69.95 with a monthly service fee of $19.95 per line for unlimited calls to the U.S. and Canada. Activation fees are $29.95 for the first line and $9.95 for the second line.

Still the only residential VoIP service providing true E911 functionality, Packet8 offers unlimited local and long distance calling to the U.S. and Canada for $19.95 per month along with videophone service priced at $29.95 per month. Features currently available to Packet8 subscribers include:
